How Our Pricing Works

We price based on value and responsibility, not hours.

  • Your business model
  • Your goals
  • The level of financial leadership you want

A self-employed handyman starting out and a 50-person union contractor with public works should not have the same fee or the same scope. Our pricing reflects your unique reality and goals.

Different Levels of Complexity

Lower-Complexity Contractors
  • Clean, reliable systems
  • Clear reporting
  • Occasional financial guidance

These engagements focus on getting the basics right and keeping you in control.

Higher-Complexity Contractors
  • Union and prevailing wage requirements
  • Multiple leaders, entities and departments
  • Public works and private work
  • Growth ambitions

These engagements require deeper discovery and ongoing financial leadership. We act as your embedded financial department, and pricing reflects that level of impact and responsibility.

Our Two-Contract Framework

1. Deep Dive Project (Preconstruction)
  • Study how your business actually runs today
  • Map your current systems, reports, and workflows
  • Align on a clear path forward you believe in

This is an initial project focused on understanding and planning.

2. Transformation + Ongoing Leadership (Construction & Maintenance)
  • Lead the financial transformation we designed together
  • Build and improve systems that match real work in the field and office
  • Provide ongoing weekly or monthly leadership and reporting

You choose whether to move into this second contract and at what level.

A Simple, Efficient Scoping Process

We keep scoping tight and respectful of your time:

  1. 15 minute qualifying call:  Light intros, confirm fit, answer basic questions, and schedule a proposal meeting.
  2. 1-2 hours with our dynamic questionnaire: You complete a focused, construction-specific questionnaire. The questions are designed to give both of us clarity.
  3. 1-hour proposal meeting: We present our recommended approach and refine it live with your feedback.
  4. Sign the initial contract: You review and sign the Deep Dive Project agreement.
  5. Schedule discovery sessions: We set dates and confirm key personnel for in-person or remote discovery.
  6. Assessment + ongoing options: We present our findings and 1–2 fixed-fee options for ongoing support. You decide what level of relationship makes sense.

Relationships, Not Transactions

This model works best when both sides value a long-term relationship, not a transactional hourly setup.

  • No rigid, one-sided lock-ins
  • You can leave with your systems and data
  • In practice, most clients choose to stay.

If you’re shopping for the lowest hourly rate, we’re not the right fit. If you want a financial partner who understands construction and will lead alongside you, we might be.
